A project founded in 2003, "Hearts in San Francisco" is a public art fundraiser. Hearts are created by local artists through a juried selection and sponsored by patrons to be displayed in public places throughout San Francisco. A final action is held for the sale of the Hearts, all proceeds go to benefit the San Francisco General Hospital. My Heart, was part of the inaugural benefit and was sponsored by: Athena Blackburn for display on the steps of Grace Cathedral. My "Heart Electra" was eventually auctioned off for $60,000, it is made of steel and oil gilded in genuine 22kt gold leaf.
